I love opossums and so should everyone else. They’re intelligent, clean and non-aggressive. They eat literally tons of ticks and many other bugs and things that spread disease. The American opossum plays an integral role in cleaning up our environment. If you see one drooling, wobbling from side-to-side or seemingly dead, it’s almost certainly just scared. In fact, opossums do not “play dead” but rather pass out from fear. It’s called “thanatosis” and it breaks my heart.
