American artist Glen Mies could ride and shoot before he could read and his creative output has been as eclectic as his lived experience. Born in 1983 and raised in both the country and a few small towns, he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in his home state, at the University of Kansas, in 2007. Since childhood, he has experimented with numerous forms of expression but at his core, Glen is a painter. His work is informed and inspired by not only the art that he admires, the places he’s been, music, queer culture, sexuality and wildlife but also his experiences with the loss of loved ones early in life, depression, addiction and cancer. Glen currently lives and works in Kansas City, Missouri.
